About the Role

Seeking a highly personable, friendly and enthusiastic person to join our team at the bakery counter.

Bakery Counter Assistants should exhibit experience in serving customers in retail settings and possess a customer-oriented approach. Outstanding candidates are highly organized and have excellent communication skills.


  • Create a welcoming and positive customer experience at the bakery counter.

  • Advise customers on product selections and taking orders.

  • Package purchased items and process payments (cash, credit card, debit card, gift card, Venmo) on Point of Sale System (POS).

  • Prepare coffee drinks.

  • Set up and monitor the availability of cookies on each tray and report low stock to the Baker in a timely manner.

  • Keep the counter and display case clean, organized and sanitized.

  • Manage inventory of products and supplies at the counter and replenish as needed.

  • Practice safe food handling procedures at all times.

  • Assist customers with future orders of favors and event platters. Must follow the guidelines of the order form and submit to the Baker.

  • Label paper and plastic items as needed.

  • Answer customer inquires and ensure that each customer receives outstanding customer service.

  • Keeping the refrigerator and freezer stocked and report low stock to the Baker.

  • Other back of house duties as assigned.
